Getting Started Texting
1. Take our Volunteer Training
Take our new volunteer training if you haven’t already done so.
2. Create a Spoke Account
Spoke is the website you’ll use to text people. If you have a Spoke account with another organization, you’ll still need to create a new account with us.
- Go to: https://spoke.live/spoke-A
- Click the “SIGN UP” tab.
- Fill out and submit the form.

3. Read Campaign Instructions
Check to see if there are any campaign instructions for current texting. If there are instructions, please read them in full before you start texting. These are very important because they outline the special canned responses, tags, and opt out guidelines for that campaign.
4. Get started Texting!
You’re ready to go! Check for a current campaign, log into Spoke, and request some texts. Once we approve your request, you can get started sending texts. If you get stuck, this Help Center answers many common questions. And if you can’t find the answers here, you can get help on Facebook or Slack.
5. Join Slack and/or Facebook (Optional but Recommended)
The best place to learn about new texting campaigns and get help is our Slack. We also have a Facebook group where we post announcements. Learn more about Slack and our Facebook group here.
